We have parking available if you wish to visit by car. You can reach
Murahamasou in 30 min from Kawaguchi interchange of Chuo Highway. Take
Route 139 towards Lake Shoji until you reach Route 358, take a right on 358.
When the road splits, go left (continuing around the lake). Murahamasou is
about 500 meters ahead on your right. You can park in the gravel area in front
of the entrance, or across the road, on the left.
We are the ryokan with the blue roof
next to the family restaurant.

Would you like to travel by train or bus? There are buses from Shinjuku and
Yokohama stations that arrive Kawaguchiko station. Also the train is easy to
use from Tokyo. From Shinjuku Station, take JR Chuo line to Otsuki Station.
Next change to the Fuji-Kyuko Line to Kawaguchiko Station. You can reach
Murahamasou in 25 min by taxi from Kawaguchiko station. Please keep in
mind, the taxi will cost around 6000 yen, so it will be much cheaper if you can
catch the local bus. You can find the local bus schedule
here.

There are only a few buses a day that run all the way to the ryokan, (Shouji-ko
stop), 16:08 the last bus leaves Kawaguchiko and comes all the way here, but
almost every hour there is one to Akaike, it is a 20-25 min walk from there. If
you are sightseeing on the Retrobus, you can catch the local bus at Fugaku
Fuketsu (Lava Cave). Please print and take the bus schedule with you.
Keep
in mind the schedule changes a little during the different seasons (more
buses in the summer, etc) so you might want to check at the Station for exact
times.

If you need help with directions, please ask or send an email, we can tell you
the best route to get here. If you are coming from Osaka or Kyoto, it may be
easier to take the Shinkansen to Shizuoka instead of going through Tokyo,
especially if you have a JR Pass. Again, there are only afternoon buses from
there (no bus after 3 pm), so please email if you want info on this route.

Here is the number
for information in English if you have any questions once
you arrive
: 080-6529-4789 It is a local call from any green payphone.
Also the workers at the Kawaguchiko information booth are very helpful, and
can help you find the right bus, etc.
If you are arriving late after the last bus, please let us know ahead of time, if
you can
. There are no buses after around 5:45, so it is best to plan to arrive in
the afternoon.
